During that time, Fitzpatrick was battling Jameis Winston for the starting job in Tampa Bay and Tua Tagovailoa for the QB1 spot in Miami.

Washington is as deep as the 2020 Dolphins team Fitzpatrick had on track for the playoffs before Miami head coach Brian Flores decided to play quarterback roulette. Miami’s QB ball eventually landed on Tua. Fitzpatrick offers Washington’s offense a steady hand, at least metaphorically, given his proclivity for turnovers.

When weighing the season total numbers for Fitzpatrick, betters should note he has only played a full 16-game season three times. So the 17th game in 2021 may not mean much, especially if past is precedent for the Harvard grad.

Fitzpatrick has gone over 23 TDs passing in all three of his full seasons. In 2020, he threw for 13 TDs in seven starts.
